Bovicola caprae (Gurlt)

Pickens Co., Six Mile, 8 February 2003, ex Capra hircus, coll. S. Miller. The goat­biting louse is probably distributed across the state. Goats are popular as pets in South Carolina and this chewing louse could infest pets.
