Bousquet (1988) described D. larochellei from specimens collected in the United States noting that the range of the species probably (emphasis added) extends north to Newfoundland since the specimens reported by Lindroth (1955) from there as D. erythrocerus LeConte almost certainly referred to this new species. Subsequently Bousquet and Larochelle collected the species in New Brunswick in 1988 (CNC) and it was included in the faunal lists of both New Brunswick and Nova Scotia by Bousquet (1991), Bousquet & Larochelle (1993), and Goulet & Bousquet (2004). However, no specimens from Nova Scotia have actually been collected. Accordingly we remove this species from the faunal list of Nova Scotia.
