Distribution. Western Atlantic – from Newfoundland to Brazil (Pernambuco, Alagoas, and Bahia) (Christoffersen 1998). Eastern Atlantic – Azores and Cape Verde (Chace 1972).
Habitat: Almost invariably associated with Sargassum in the open sea, but common on seagrass flats (Chace 1972).
