Remarks: This species, originally located in Proharpinia Schellenberg, 1931, was transferred to Torridoharpinia Barnard and Karaman, 1982; both genera differ principally in the aspect of the epimeron 3 and the telson setae. Torridoharpinia hurleyi is easily distinguished from the only other species of the genus (T. tropicana J.L. Barnard, 1960) by the epimeron 3 and article 2 of peraeopod 7.
