Material examined. Three specimens: MNRJ 26925 (2, 266.0–364.0 mm), T, D- 464; MNRJ 26941 (1, 282.0 mm), T, E- 543.

Distribution. Collected from off Rio de Janeiro, at depths from 617 to 776 m. Coelorinchus marinii was described from off the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina (38 ° 52 ’ S, 56 ° 20 ’ W) and is known from southern Brazil to Antarctica (Cohen et al. 1990; Iwamoto 1990; Cousseau 1993; Menezes & Figueiredo 2003 a).
