Type locality. WC, Cape Peninsula, Rifle Range near Simonstown, under stones (waterfall).
Distribution. This subspecies occurs only in the south-eastern part of peninsula. Records: Simonstown, waterfall above little dam in Baviaan’s Kloof. Head of Baviaan’s Kloof. Near Rifle Range, Klaver Vallei, among roots of Osmitopsis and Juncus. Near the dam behind Molteno's House. Between Miller's Point and Simonstown.
Remarks. Syntypes ZMH V- 6382, 6383; ZMB Verm. 4055. Other material BMNH 1938.7.1.2243– 2259, recorded as Ch. montanus or Ch. purcelli montanus.
