Agyneta fillmorana Buckle et al. 2011: 100. (Transferred from Meioneta).

Type material: Bathyphantes fillmoranus Chamberlin 1919, Ƥ HOLOTYPE from Utah, Fillmore Canyon, R.V. Chamberlin Coll. (unique number 425 –RVC). MCZ, EXAMINED.

Diagnosis: Males are differentiated from all other Agyneta species by their small spoon-shaped lamella characteristica (Fig. 172). Females are distinguished from all other Agyneta by their abdominal pattern (Fig. 178) and their wide proximal part of scape with strong oblique sides (Fig. 181). Furthermore, from closely related species A. darrelli, males and females are distinguished by their orange sternum lightly suffused with dark gray, darker along margin, while in A. darrelli the sternum is uniformly suffused with dark gray. Females can be separated by the long connection between the stretcher and the lateral lobes (Fig. 184 arrow), very short in A. darrelli (Fig. 194 arrow).

Description: Male: Total length: small morph 1.91; large morph 2.57; carapace length: small morph 0.83; large morph 1.33, width: small morph 0.62; large morph 0.93.

CEPHALOTHORAX: Carapace orange, shiny, finely reticulate; can be suffused with dark gray along radiating lines and pars cephalica. Sternum orange lightly suffused with dark gray, darker along margin. Clypeus height 3. Chelicerae (large morph) orange, not excavated, greatly enlarged; seta-tipped tubercles present; promargin with no denticles, retromargin carinated with one basal denticle; fangs greatly enlarged (Fig. 179). Chelicerae (small morph) orange, not excavated nor enlarged; promargin three denticles, retromargin carinated with two small apical denticles; fangs normal (Fig. 180). Cheliceral stridulatory organ visible, faint ~ 44 closely spaced striae, evenly spaced throughout. ABDOMEN: Patterned variable, (large morph) off-white with pattern consisiting of a dark median band extending laterally into chevrons (Fig. 176); (small morph) off-white with pattern consisiting of a broken dark median band extending into chevrons (Fig. 177). LEGS: Light yellow-orange; (large morph) leg I total length: 4.28; leg III total length: 2.89; (small morph) leg I total length: 3.87; leg III total length: 2.46; Tm I: 0.23, Tm IV: absent. GENITALIA: Palpal retrolateral tibial apophysis small, triangular; dorsal tibial apophysis rugose; two retrolateral trichobothria and a dorsal one (Fig. 172). Cymbium with retrolateral fold; glabrous depression present (Fig. 172); dorsal and ventral cymbial tubercles fused, smooth; prolateral notch shallow (Fig. 173). Paracymbium with apical pocket only (Fig. 172). Embolus tip pointed; basally, apically and ventrally with small spines; Fickert’s gland basal, slightly swollen; ventral lamella transparent, rugose; thumb going slightly beyond embolus proper (Fig. 174). Embolus proper set apically, serrated, crest-like reaching tip of embolus (Fig. 174). Anterior terminal apophysis long with rounded tip and short curved protrusions; posterior terminal apophysis short, with squared spiny tip; lamella characteristica small, spoon-shaped (Fig. 175). PALPAL VARIATION: large morph individuals have a longer palpal tibia, larger cymbial fused tubercles more deeply excavated and a slightly larger lamella characteristica.

Female: Total length 2.11; carapace length 0.90, width 0.77.

MAP. 10. Localities of Agyneta fillmorana (Chamberlin 1919).

CEPHALOTHORAX: Carapace orange, shiny, finely reticulate; sometimes suffused with dark gray along radiating lines and pars cephalica. Sternum orange suffused with dark gray, darker along margin. Chelicerae orange; promargin four denticles, retromargin two small apical denticles. Cheliceral stridulatory organ visible, faint with ~ 34 closely spaced striae, evenly spaced throughout. ABDOMEN: Pattern variable, off-white with pattern consisting of a dark median band reaching mid-way with some apical chevrons (Fig. 178) or off-white with pattern consisiting of a dark median broken band extending apically into lateral chevrons (Fig. 177). LEGS: Light yelloworange; palpal tarsal claw absent; leg I total length: 3.89; leg III total length: 2.85; Tm I: 0.25, Tm IV: absent. GENITALIA: Epigynum with very wide proximal part of scape with oblique sides; epigynal slits long, oval; pit hook depression shallow but wide (Fig. 181); lateral lobes long and folded; stretcher medium; pit deep (Fig. 182).
