Distribution. Europe, from north (Sweden) to Central and Eastern Europe (Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Romania), Southern Europe (Spain, France, Italy) and South-Eastern Europe (Balkan Peninsula: Serbia, Montenegro, Bulgaria).
Distribution in Romania. Epigeal records. Oradea (ET 61), Pecica (ES01), St. Martin (ET 70), Mehadia (FQ07) (all: Kuthy 1896); Sighişoara (LM 21) (Petri 1912, 1926); Comana (MJ 39) (Montandon 1908). Hypogeal records. Caraşului gorge (ER 60) (MSS, 24.IV. 2002, VI leg., ISER) (Fig. 4).
Ecological status. Trogloxene.
