Discussion. Most specimens fit to common European diagnosis. Specimens with irregular rugose granulation all over the body, which is a characteristic of F. quadrioculata, and corner sensilla situated in p-row on Th.II, like in F. manolachei, sometimes occur. In damp places of an estuary of Selenga River a form with smoother cuticle and longer sensilla was recorded.
Distribution and ecology. Records all over Buryatia (Fig. 1: loc. 1–2, 5, 7–10, 12, 14, 15), from dry to damp sites, sometimes in salty areas, penetrates actively to alpine zones occurring on extreme dry slopes. No records from steppes. It is not very common in normal taiga forests where other species of Folsomia predominate.
