Includes small, delicate-looking and rather colorful species distributed over most of S and SE Asia. Nymphs exhibit ant mimicry. Two subgenera are recognized (Hapalopeza s. str. and Spilomantis). One or two species of the nominate subgenus occur in Borneo. Arboricolous, also on high weeds and scrubs.
