40. Stigmella basiguttella (Heinemann, 1862)

Host-plants. Quercus robur L. in the Crimea; probably also Quercus pubescens Willd. and other Quercus species, and Castanea sativa Mill. as in other regions.

Type of distribution (chorological group). Euro-Mediterranean; the species occurs from Spain and Great Britain to Finland, central European Russia, Greece and the Caucasus (from western Georgia to southeastern Azerbaijan).

Remarks. The species is not rare in the Crimea: limited in distribution but abundant.
