Diagnosis. Males of Kukulcania hibernalis can be distinguished from those of K. brevipes, the other species from the Neotropical region, by the less spiny venter of the palpal tibiae and leg I, the cymbium without modified distal setae and the stout, coiled embolus and the medially positioned spermathecae (see Brescovit & Santos, 2013: figs 1 D‒F, 2 D‒F, 3 B).

Description. See Ramírez & Grismado (1997: 348, figs 1, 4, 7, 107 – 111) and Brescovit & Santos (2013: 311, figs 1 D‒F, 2 D‒F, 3 B).

Distribution. This species is widely distributed in the Neotropical region, particularly in synanthropic areas. In the Caribbean, it is known from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (Simon, 1891; Petrunkevitch, 1911, Silva, Alayón & Horrocks, 2006), U. S. Virgin Islands (Bryant, 1942), Puerto Rico (Petrunkevitch, 1911; 1929), Haiti and the Dominican Republic (Bryant, 1948), Cuba (Petrunkevitch, 1911; Bryant, 1940; Alayón, 1972), and Jamaica (Petrunkevitch, 1911).
