The Data Quality Lead Business Analyst supports the business and systems divisions of MUFG Bank
Europe in assessing and monitoring the quality of key data, and makes recommendations on steps
needed to remediate Data Quality gaps & issues. The DQ BA takes both tactical and strategic views
and appreciates the value of good quality data from regulatory and commercial perspectives.
Function positioning
As a key member of Data Management team, the role will focus on two main areas:
1. Data Quality Issue Management
- Lead and support the team with root cause analysis and remediation proposals
- Liaise with stakeholders to identify remediation ownership and handover
- Coordinate and participate is sessions with Data Stewards and Business Process Owners
2. Data Quality Assessment and Monitoring
- Lead and support the team with defining and setting up Data Quality Business Rules
- Produce DQ Dashboards
- Coordinate and support the data gap remediationAdditionally,
- Report on Data Quality activities and Key Risk Indicators for Data.
- Chair the Data Quality Working Group and present on DQ in the Data Management Committee.
- Collaborate with the Data Governance Team on Key Data Management activities
* Consult and support data streams within projects Essential Functions*:
- Work to continuously improve data quality within MBE across all data types, with a focus on Key Data Elements.
- Measure improvements in data quality; identify and communicate the value delivered.
- Manage the Data Quality Issue Management process, ensuring issues are triaged and analysed with viable solutions proposed.
- Work with 1st Line teams to assign ownership appropriate for DQ issue resolution.
- Monitor and maintain accuracy, alignment and quality in a pro-active manner - embed proactive data quality profiling in key source areas
- Utilize data lineage to understand downstream impacts of data quality issues and ensure proactive is in place for end users.
- Further develop the operating model for the data quality team.
- Use business process owners and data stewardship community to drive appropriate data quality improvements
- Help implement the data quality management framework, processes, principles and standards
- Manage and help create appropriate artefacts
- Support the implementation of the appropriate toolsets and applications
- Ensure compliance with the bank's data-related rules, policies, procedures and guidelines together with relevant regulatory and statutory requirements.

Strong knowledge of supervisory perspectives on Data Management / Data Governance
- An appreciation for the drivers of Data Management: regulatory need and business benefits
- Ability to think in strategic terms across multiple business and project perspectives.
- A broad view of the business with appreciation for strategy, processes and capabilities, enabling-technologies, and governance.
- An affinity with business imperatives and IT solutions, with a proven capacity for creating alignment between the two.
- The ability to visualize and create high-level models (information-rich diagrams) that can be
- used in future analysis to extend and mature the business architecture.
- Experience developing and using these high-level models as required to collect, aggregate or
- disaggregate complex and conflicting information about the business.
- Good communication skills and the demonstrable ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizations
- The ability to act as liaison, conveying information between the business divisions and their counterparts within systems divisions: business requirements, data constraints, business rules, processes, accountabilities, and other business / IT operational needs.
- A Team player able to work effectively at all levels of an organization capable to influence others to move toward consensus.
