Fig. 3A
Eumetula dilecta Thiele, 1912: 205, pl. 12, fig. 30
Examined material. 3 sh. (MACN-In 40680).
Description. Shell height to 5.5 mm; turritelliform, moderately solid. Protoconch small, of about 2.5 markedly keeled whorls; sculptured with 12 to 15 strong axial ribs per whorl and a strong spiral cord; transition to teleoconch not clearly defined. Teleoconch of up to 7 whorls, slightly convex in outline; last whorl comprising about 35% of total shell height. Suture impressed. Surface pale brown, with spiral sculpture lighter; sculptured with 17 to 21 strong axial ribs and 2 strong spiral cords per whorl, which produce small beads at their intersections. Base delimited by a smooth cord. Aperture ovate, interior pale brown; columellar callus narrow; siphonal canal short, markedly oblique, wide.
Remarks. The material studied here resembles Eumetula dilecta in shell sculpture, although clearly differs in the shell outline of the first whorls (markedly keeled vs. evenly convex).
