Description
Atrichozancla cosymbota (Meyrick, 1920)
Eridachtha cosymbota Meyrick, 1920: 285; Meyrick 1925: 220. TL: South Africa, Cape Colony [SAMC].
Atrichozancla cosymbota; Janse 1954: 369.
Adult. See Janse (1954, Pl. 157, Fig. 5). Wingspan 15 mm.
Diagnosis. No diagnostic differences can be detected in external characters.
Male genitalia: the male genitalia of the type specimen, which is preserved in the SAMC, was illustrated by Janse (1954, Pl. 152, Fig. 6 - photo; Pl. 162, Fig. 6 - line drawing). Similar to those of A. gymnopalpa Janse, but the valva has no a triangular protrusion on the ventral margin, and the cucullus is slightly narrowed toward the end beyond middle in A. cosymbota.
Material examined. The holotype ([South Africa], Oudebosch, Jan. & Feb.) is deposited in the SAMC, not examined, but the figures illustrated by Janse (1954) are cited here.
Distribution. South Africa (Western Cape) (Meyrick 1920).
