New record for the Bebedero River basin; previous records of the species in Costa Rican freshwaters were restricted to Atlantic drainages. New elevational record (43 m. a.s.l.); previous records of the species in Costa Rican freshwaters were restricted to 0– 12 m.a.s.l. Basis of the record: One specimen was captured in the río Bebedero, near Paso Real, Cañas, Guanacaste (10.43318, -85.15697), at 32 m. a.s.l., on August 7, 2021, by Luis Bolivar Montero-Chacón. Additional specimens (3) were captured in Buena Vista, Guatuso, Alajuela (10.76171, -84.78497), at 43 m. a.s.l., on June 20, 2020, by Arturo Angulo et al.
