READ ME File For 'Tomography data for interparticle contact detection analysis in spheroidal granular packings' DATE: December 2022 DESCRIPTION OF THE DATA Data was obtained from synchrotron X-ray tomography scans a hexagonal close-packed arrangement of soda-glass pellets. Scans were carried out at Diamond Light Source (DLS) using beamline I12-JEEP. Data is organised in two compressed folders containing scans for two contacting and two non-contacting pellet latices, denominated 'bottom' and 'top', respectively, from their position in the sample. Basic scan set-up parameters are given below. Scan Ang. range (°) No. proj. Exp. (s) A1 0-180 721 0.4 A2 0-180 1801 0.4 A3 0-180 3601 0.4 A4 0-360 7201 0.4 A5 1 0-360 3601 0.4 B1 0-360 3601 0.2 B2 0-180 1801 0.1 B3 0-180 1801 0.05 1 Half-acquisition scan The nominal pixel size was 21 microns. All data is presented in HDF5 file format. Data may be visualised using, e.g., Fiji-ImageJ (use of plugin developed by the Paul Scherrer Institute is recommended; see https://github.com/paulscherrerinstitute/ch.psi.imagej.hdf5).
