Distribution. Diastobranchus capensis was described from South Africa. It is known from temperate waters of the eastern South Pacific, Indian Ocean, and WSA (Castle 1986 b; Parin et al. 1995; Sulak & Shcherbachev 1997; Brickle & Laptikhovsy 2002). Recently, several specimens were collected in the western North Atlantic off New England, USA (about 40 ΒΊ N), thus extending the known distribution of the species to the northern hemisphere (Moore et al. 2003).
