Description
Hylastes attenuatus Erichson, 1836
Distribution in Iran. Golestan (Samin et al. 2011).
General distribution. Throughout the Palaearctic region from Europe and North Africa to China, Korea, Japan.
Biology. This species attacks only Pinus (Pinaceae) (Balachowsky 1949; Chararas 1962). In Iran it is recorded from Pinus brutia (Samin et al. 2011). Chararas (1962) and Fernandez (1997) give further details of the biology and gallery system.
