Description
Genus: Eohypsibius Kristensen, 1982
Emended diagnosis. An extremely slender eohypsibiid with reduced legs and claws. Body of medium size. Very large, trumpet-shaped mouth with 14 lamellae. Ventral strengthening bar absent. Buccal tube only partly rigid, posterior part with annulations; however, the annulations of the buccal tube can only be seen after clearing in mounting medium. Crest-shaped dorsal and ventral apophyses of the buccal tube for insertion of the stylet retractor muscles, and two pairs of caudal hooks. Three ovoid Malpighian tubes each with a small stalk (collecting tube to the pylorus). Eggs laid free or laid in the old exuvium and always strongly sculptured.
Type genus. Eohypsibius nadjae Kristensen, 1982
Composition. The type species, E. nadjae Kristensen, 1982 and Eohypsibius terrestris Ito, 1988.
