Three reported off Santa Barbara, southern California (Eschmeyer and Herald 1983); Todos Santos (23°24.6’N, 110°13.8’W) (John Snow, pers. comm. to M.L.), and Gulf of California (Bussing in Fischer et al. 1995) to northern Peru (Chirichigno and Vélez 1998).
