Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a video of a specimen taken at Anelaua Island, off eastern New Hanover, at 3–16 m depth, St. KR 98, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell); another taken in Albatross Passage, southwestern Kavieng District, at 3–39 m depth, St. KR 51, in 2014.
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Indonesia east to Philippines, Palau and Solomon Islands, north to Taiwan and Ryukyu Islands, south to Vanuatu. Found on rocky, intertidal flats including tidal pools, 0–3 m depth. Marine.
