Material examined. AM G 16025, east of Brush Island, NSW, 35 ° 36 ’S 150 ° 55 ’E, FRV Kapala, JP 77 -13, 27 October 1977; 3 specimens, 33.17mm BD, 27.92mm BD, 15.77mm BD.

Remarks. The specimens match descriptions of A. vanhoeffeni by Russell (1957 a, 1970) and Larson (1986 b): i.e., the stomach is cruciform, with a pair of dark spots at each end of the cross. This is the first record of A. vanhoeffeni in Australian waters.
