Geographical distribution: Colombia, Guyana, Suriname, Brazil, Ecuador, Bolivia, and Argentina.

Distribution in Brazil: North, Central-West, and Southeast regions (PA, AM, TO, RO, GO, MG, RJ) (White 1879b; Truxal 1949, 1957; Nieser 1970b; Melo & Nieser 2004; Pereira & Melo 2007; Barbosa et al. 2010; Ribeiro et al. 2010).
