Ulyxes ulysses Shaw 2014, new combination

Description

Ulyxes ulysses (Domrow, 1961) new combination

Haemolaelaps ulysses Domrow, 1961: 63

Haemolaelaps ulysses. Domrow, 1972a: 111; 1988: 833.

Androlaelaps ulysses. Halliday, 1998: 123.

Remarks. The species is type for the genus. It is only known from Pseudocheirus peregrinus, the Common Ringtail Possum. Original collections were from ears of its host. Based on its small chelicerae, and the single weak tooth in the fixed digit, this species is assumed to be parasitic (Table 3).
