Spirobranchus corniculatus- complex

Spirobranchus tricornis not (Mörch) sensu Morton and Morton 1983: 278 –279.

Remarks. Spirobranchus tricornis sensu auct. has been reported from Hong Kong by Mak (1982: 609) and by Morton and Morton (1983: 279). From Mak’s diagnosis it is evident that he was referring to S. tetraceros (see below). However, Morton and Morton (1983: 278–279) clearly depict a spiralised branchial crown, with colours white, yellow, orange and red, living in corals. This only can refer to a member of the Spirobranchus corniculatuscomplex (see Fiege and ten Hove 1999, figure 4), unfortunately Morton ´s notes are insufficient for a more detailed identification of the taxon involved.
