Homotypic synonym: Heterosmilax gaudichaudiana (Kunth) Maxim (1872: 176). Type: lectotype designated by Koyama (1983: 123). CHINA. Macau: 1844, Gaudichaud 57 (lectotype P!, isolectotype P!)
