Remarks: Specimens from the sand dunes at Prudhoe Bay (Alaska) and Baffin Island (NU) recorded by Fjellberg (1985) as H. pannosa have been mentioned in the original description of H. arctandria as being part of the latter. It is described as a littoral species which is "locally common in debris and sea-weeds in the upper littoral zone on sandy beaches" (Fjellberg 1988, p. 6).
