This data package includes the following file:

"Red knot VHF tracking data.txt"
Data on individual VHF tagged red knots in delaware Bay (USA), travelling to their Arctic breeding grounds and back in 2014-2016.

DATA DESCRIPTION
*******************************************************
Named variables in the data file "Red knot VHF tracking data.txt" are defined as follows:

"bird_id" - unique id number
"year" - year of tracking
"site" - sitename of detected bird_id
"time-stamp" - time of detection (note that only first and last detection per site are given)
"latitude" - latitude of receiver station
"longitude" - longitude of receiver station
"wing" - wing length (mm)
"mass" - mass at capture (g)
"capture_day" - day of year the individual was captured
"distance" - distance between 2 receiver stations (m)
"speed" - calculated ground speed (m/s)
"tailwind_trajectory" - estimated mean tailwind over the trajectory (m/s)
"tailwind_departure" - estimated tailwind at departure (the first 3h) (m/s)
"stayover_time" - time an individual has stopped en route (s)
