<p>Type species: <i>Acosmetura emarginata</i> Liu, 2000, here designated.</p> 
<p>
<b>Description.</b> Body small and stout. Head short and stout. Fastigium verticis conical, furrowed in the midline, apex rounded. Apical segment of maxillary palpus slightly longer than subapical one. Male pronotum slightly protruding posteriorly, anterior margin straight, posterior margin obtusely rounded, metazona slightly raised, lateral lobe of pronotum narrowing, without humeral sinus. Female pronotum shorter than that of male, metazona flat. Tibial tympana open on both sides. Pro- and mesotibia with spines on ventral surfaces. Posttibia with a pair of dorsal apical spurs and two pairs of ventral apical spurs. Male tegmina not reaching, or slightly surpassing posterior margin of pronotum; female tegmina squamiform, laterally; hind wings absent. Posterior margin of male tenth abdominal tergite with a triangular concavity; cerci relatively long, subgenital plate distinctly curved dorsad, without styli. Genitalia sclerotized and exposed. Basal area of genitalia broad, narrowing.</p> 
<p>
<b>Discussion.</b> The new genus is very similar to the genus <i>Sinocyrtaspiodea</i> Shi &amp; Bian, 2013 and <i>Acosmetura</i> Liu, 2000. It differs from <i>Sinocyrtaspiodea</i> in: male subgenital plate without styli; pronotum short. It is different from <i>Acosmetura</i> in: male subgenital plate distinctly curved dorsad, without styli.</p> 
<p>
<b>Etymology.</b> The name of the new genus is from ‘ <i>Chuan</i> ’ (abbreviate from Sichuan Province) and the genus <i>Cosmetura</i> name. By reason of the new genus is similar to <i>Acosmetura</i> and the type locality is Ya’an, Sichuan.</p>
