This is a README file for the data presented in our RNAAS paper, "A Multi-Band Forced-Photometry Catalog in the ELAIS-S1 Field" by F. Zou et al. (2021, RNAAS, 5, 31). You should refer to the paper for a better understanding of our catalog construction process. More details are also available in Nyland et al. (2017, ApJS, 230, 9). If you have any queries or feedback, feel free to contact Fan Zou (Penn State University; fuz64@psu.edu). The data in this folder are explained below. ********** catalog ********** File name: ES1phot.fits The table schema is: # Column 0, "ID_VIDEO": the IDs in the original VIDEO DR5 catalog. # Column 1-2, "RA" and "Dec": J2000 right ascensions and declinations in degrees. # Column 3, "FiducialBand": the fiducial band of the fitting. Possible values: Ks, H, J, Y, and Z. # Column 4, "SourceModel": the models for the intrinsic surface-brightness profiles. Possible values: PtSrc (point source), ExpGal (exponential), and DevGal (deVaucouleurs). # Column 5-20, "mag_{band}_{survey}": the AB magnitudes of the corresponding {band} in the {survey}. These columns include mag_{ch2, ch1}_DeepDrill, mag_{Ks, H, J, Y, Z}_VIDEO, mag_{y, z, i, r, g}_DES, mag_{R, V, B}_ESIS, and mag_u_VOICE. # Column 21-36, "magerr_{band}_{survey}": the magnitude errors. # Column 37-52, "redchi2_{band}_{survey}": the reduced chi-square values. # Column 53-62, "flag_sat_{band}_{survey}": the flags for possibly saturated sources. Possible values: 0 (unsaturated) and 1 (possibly saturated). These columns include flag_sat_{ch2, ch1}_DeepDrill, flag_sat_{Ks, H, J, Y, Z}_VIDEO, and flag_sat_{R, V, B}_ESIS. # Column 63, "flag_outlier_DES": the flags for possibly problematic sources in DES; these should be applied to all DES bands. # Column 64, "nndist": the nearest-neighbor angular distances in arc seconds. This can be used as a basic indication for possible blending issues in the original DeepDrill images. A nominal threshold is 0.38'', below which it is highly likely to have blending issues. Note that these blending issues are addressed in our catalog through the forced-photometry method. Caveat: Many faint sources may not be significantly detected in shallow surveys. Please be cautious when using the photometry of these sources. Depending upon your application, you may with to apply a signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR) cut, where the SNRs can be estimated from their magnitude errors: SNR = 3 <-> magerr ~ 0.36; SNR = 2 <-> magerr ~ 0.54. ********** appendix ********** The file "appendix.pdf" contains several supplementary notes and three diagnostic figures supporting this catalog. You can read the figure captions and our RNAAS paper for the descriptions. ********** release history ********** Version 4 modifies the magnitude errors. Version 1-3 are the same.
