Dataset associated with "Uncertainty in East Antarctic firn thickness constrained using a model ensemble approach" of Verjans et al. (2021). Author: Vincent Verjans (v.verjans@lancaster.ac.uk) Please feel free to contact Vincent Verjans by email if you have any questions. This datasets includes 54 files. Each file corresponds to the scenario-specific time series of total firn thickness change (dh_f_tot in the study). Each file includes the time series over the entire grid of the East Antarctic ice sheet corresponding to the scenario. Note that grids are specific to the Regional Climate Models. Scenarios computed with different Regional Climate Models thus have different grids. The time series are annually averaged (original time resolution is daily). Files are in NetCDF format. Variables in the files: -date: vector of years in decimal values (from 1992.33 to 2017.33) -ii: x-direction index of the Regional Climate Model grid -jj: y-direction index of the Regional Climate Model grid -lat: latitude corresponding to the (x,y) grid point (units: degree) -lon: longitude corresponding to the (x,y) grid point (units: degree) -cumdhtot: cumulative total change in firn thickness since 1992.33 (units: meters) The file names follow the format: yearlycumdhtot_RCM_FDM_rho0.nc where: -RCM denotes the Regional Climate Model used for the scenario (3 possibilities) -FDM denotes the Firn Densification Model used for the scenario (9 possibilities) -rho0 denotes the surface density parameterisation for the scenario (2 possibilities) (see Table 1 in the main text for the details about RCM, FDM, rho0) Reference: Verjans, V., Leeson, A.
