Type material. Holotype female from INDIA: Jammu and Kashmir: Poonch / Punch (33°46’01.15’’N, 74°05’32.89’’E), 1007 m alt.; B.D. Sharma leg.; 1 April 1973; repository NZC-ZSI, Kolkata (no register number specified), examined.

Type material status. The ZSI collection has one glass tube for this species, which is labeled as ‘holotype’ (no register number) contains one female specimen in fairly good condition, with broken legs. The same tube has a small glass vial contains the dissected genitalia.

Diagnosis. Females of P. kashmirensis seem closely related to the females of Plator hanyikani Lin & Li, 2020 in the shape of epigynum, but can be separated from the latter by convex anterior part of copulatory ducts (P. hanyikani with concave anterior part of copulatory ducts) (compare Fig. 8 with Lin & Li 2020: fig. 3B).

Supplementary description. Female (holotype, Figs 5–6). Colour in alcohol: overall greyish-black (probably due to long term preservation). Body length 5.74. Carapace length 2.49, width 3.74. Opisthosoma length 3.25, width 3.70. Eye diameters: ALE 0.12. AME 0.15. PLE 0.14. PME 0.05. Eye interdistances: ALE–AME 0.16. ALE–PLE 0.25. AME–AME 0.10. AME–PME 0.15. PME–PLE 0.36. PME–PME 0.30. Measurements of legs: I 8.46 [2.72, 1.20, 1.59, 1.88, 1.07], II 12.09 [3.82, 1.43, 2.77, 2.81, 1.26], III 11.97 [3.94, 1.25, 2.71, 2.82, 1.25], IV 10.09 [3.39, 0.98, 2.08, 2.51, 1.13]. Leg formula: 2341. Genitalia as in Figs 7–8.

Male. Unknown.
