Cervical Cancer is a serious but preventable public health problem among women worldwide. Women of childbearing age who are sexually active are at risk of developing cervical cancer. Majority of the women have never screened for this disease, this may be attributed to poor knowledge of cervical cancer. This study adopted two group quasi-experimental research design conducted in two selected primary health centres in Ibadan. The centres are Agbongbon (intervention group) and Bashorun (control group) primary health centres between March and April 2018. Multistage sampling technique was used to select 194 women between the ages of 15-49 years resident in Ibadan according to the eligibility for the study. Data were collected from the participants using validated structured questionnaire with Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient of 0.75. The data collected was subjected to descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings of the study revealed poor knowledge of cervical cancer prior intervention. The effect of nursing intervention on women of childbearing age was apparent in knowledge change among the intervention group as compared to the control group.
