Recommendations on perfluoralkyl compounds in Dutch food
- 1. Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority
Description
Perfluoralkyl compounds are chemical substances that are widely used in industrial and consumer products. These substances have many applications due to their water-repellent and oil-repellent properties. Their wide use, and the fact that a number of these substances do not break down easily in the environment, means that perfluoralkyl compounds are being found in surface water, fish, birds, mammals, and plants, and could be present in our food supply.
