VARIABLES:

Year: Sampling year

Country: Arctic country/state data were sampled

Survey_area: Name of general survey area (or state or province) where falcon population was monitored

Ambio_Site-no: Area identifier as used in Ambio journal article where (most of) the data were published (Franke et al. 2020, see References)

Species: Falcon species data apply to - PEFA=Peregrine Falcon (Falco peregrinus), GYRF=Gyrfalcon (Falco Rusticolus)

Occupancy: Proportion of checked nesting territories that were occupied (see Franke et al. 2020 for definitions and terminology) *)

Productivity: Average number of young produced per occupied territory (see Franke et al. 2020 for definitions and terminology) *)

Terr_known: Number of breeding sites (falcon territories) known in the survey area (only available for some areas)

Terr_checked: Number of known breeding sites (falcon territories) surveyed that year (only available for some areas) **)

Data_owners: Last name of principal investigator(s) responsible for surveys and data compilation from respective survey area.

Mail_contact: Email address of principal investigators (data ownwers); potential data users are strongly encouraged to contact the data owners prior to using and interpreting the data.

ORCID_ID: The ORCID identifier of principal investigators/data owners, where available

*)Variation in survey methods may bias some figures so it is strongly encouraged to seek further information from respective data owners as well as reviewing the discussions in Franke et al. (2020)
**) For monitoring areas where 'Terr_checked' is avalable it can be considered 'sample size'; for other areas please contact respective data owners.
