Distribution. Western Baltic Sea, North Sea, Mediterranean Sea, Sea of Marmara, Black Sea, northeastern Atlantic: Greenland, Iceland, Svalbard and Barents Sea south to Morocco; northwestern Atlantic.
Conservation. IUCN: Global (NE); Med. (LC: 13 November 2007). Capture and threats: Unknown. Occurrence: Very rare. Low priority for conservation action.
