A Keen Understanding of Hitler's Policies: Surveying the American Zeitgeist

Conventional knowledge tells us that few Americans knew the details or inner workings of Hitler's racial hygiene and eugenic policies. We are told that we didn’t become privy to the inner workings and implementation of these laws. The reality is that there were waves of American scientists and journalists that were invited to survey, and sometimes even participate, in the daily implementation of National Socialism’s eugenic state. These scientists, doctors, and journalists then reported back, writing papers and articles that gave cover and a veil of scientific legitimacy to Nazism’s racial hygiene laws.
