   This simulation was carried out in 2018 on the Cartesius supercomputer in 
   The Netherlands. The technical name is:
      b.e21.BHIST.f09_g17.CMIP6-historical.003b
   as it was brached off in 1950 from an NCAR simulation named:
      b.e21.BHIST.f09_g17.CMIP6-historical.003
   which bears the external name "CMIP6.NCAR.CESM2.historical.none.r3i1p1f1"

   Simulation HIST-parent is referred to as "HIST-EC" in 
   https://doi.org/10.1029/2019JF005318 where it is described in further detail.
