The construction sector represents one of the biggest sources of waste in terms of volume with approximately 70,5 million tons of wood waste generated annually. Currently, around one third of waste wood is recycled. This presentation gives an overview of WoodCircus project which aims at compiling existing empirical knowledge and practical know-how to establish a state of the art overview of wood-based value chains in the wood construction sector, identifying and disseminating good practices and innovative solutions to optimize use of forest resources in all parts of the value chains as well as raising public awareness.

The WoodCircus project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement no. 820892.

Presentation at the InnovaWood General Assembly 8 July 2020.
