Petrological Analysis of Igneous Rocks Exposed in North Eastern Part of Pyingyitaung, Singu Township, Mandalay Region

Description
The research area is situated in the 18 km east of Singu Township, Mandalay Region, and covers about 28 km2 . This area lies between Latitude: 22˚ 32′ 50″ to 22˚ 36′ 40″ N and Longitude: 96˚ 08′ 40″ to 96˚ 11′ 30″ E in one inch topographic no. 93B/2. This area is mainly composed of Lower Tertiary intrusive igneous rocks such as leucogranite, tourmaline granite, foliated granite, biotite microgranite and pegmatite, which intruded into the medium to high grade Mogok metamorphic rocks. The granitic rocks belong to the acid clan and S-type with sedimentary origin. The liquidus temperature can be estimated for granitic rocks as between 650˚C – 690˚C.
