H o l o t y p e: ♂. Chile, Arica, Qda. de Azapa, 22-26/VII/1987. A second label reads: Coll. SAGI ( MNNC). P a r a t y p e s:Twospecimens from the same locality as the holotype ( MNNC, 1; UMCE, 1).

D i a g n o s i s: The presence of 7 knobs on the disc of the pronotum will distinguish this species from S. dilatus.

D e s c r i p t i o n: This species was adequately described and illustrated by SOLERVICENS (2003: 45). Additional characteristics involve: Antenna as in Fig. 18, pronotum as in Fig. 44, elytral asetiferous punctures striate, epipleural margin serrulate near elytral apex, and habitus in Fig. 95.
