Haliplus (s. str.) dorsomaculatus Zimmerman, 1924

Haliplus dorsomaculatus was reported from Newfoundland by Roughley (1991), however, Kenner (2005) re-described and reviewed H. dorsomaculatus and has established that it is a western North American species found from southern British Columbia to northern California, and east to Montana and Wyoming. Th ere is no evidence that it occurs in Newfoundland.
