Antherophagus ochraceus Melsheimer, 1844

Antherophagus ochraceus was reported from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and insular Newfoundland by Bousquet (1991) and it is widely distribut- ed in the region (Fig. 1). Antherophagus species are associated with bumblebees ( Bombus spp.) (see A. convexulus). Blatchley (1910) reported this species from the flowers of Hydrangea arborescens L. ( Hydrangeaceae). In Nova Scotia there are several records from the flowers of Rosa virginiana Mill. ( Rosaceae).
