While the geographic distribution of this Monardia is known to span both the Nearctic and Palearctic regions, actual specimens documented in the literature are sparse. The two previous Fennoscandian records ( Norway, Finland) are both based on single males ( Jaschhof & Jaschhof 2009: 199). The presence of M. lignivora in Sweden is evidenced here for the first time based on two findings in southern Lapland.
