Fritz Krüger en la Argentina: sobre El argentinismo "es de lindo"
Description
This article analyzes the comparative syntax study El argentinismo "es de lindo". Sus variantes y antecedentes peninsulares by the German philologist Fritz Krüger (1899-1974), published in 1960 during his tenure as head of the Linguistic Institute at the Cuyo National University in Mendoza, Argentina. This book stands out from his work because of its approach of an Argentine Spanish linguistic phenomenon. This is unusual as his activities in Argentina were mostly dedicated to continuing works begun in Europe and involving linguistic and ethnographic material collected before and regarding France and the Iberian Peninsula. Our analysis reconstructs Krüger’s academic biography and the process of publication of this book; then it describes globally the thesis proposed, its theoretical base and the corpus of examples; afterwards it focuses on the "Argentine elements" of the publication by a description of the Argentine linguistic references and the examples he uses to illustrate phenomena of the local linguistic reality.
