Lyotard and the problem of knowledge in the digital age [Lyotard y el problema del saber en la era digital]

Lyotard discusses the changing status of knowledge produced in contemporary society dominated by digital technologies. The introduction of technology (which Lyotard calls “technics”) in the field of knowledge decisively affect their status because technology operates on a principle that has not previously entered in relation to knowledge: the criterion of efficiency or performativity, which no longer moves through the old Aristotelian desire to increase knowledge, but by the desire for enrichment.
