La enseñanza de la gramática castellana en las escuelas del País Vasco: las obras de Juan Osés y Ayanz (1830-1881)

uan Osés y Ayanz (1830-1881) worked as a teacher and director at several public and private schools for a long time, therefore he knew closely the shortcomings of the didactic methods used at them. This is why, once he started running the El Euskara's printing house in 1869, he published several texts to make Spanish grammar teaching easier: some books divided into three levels, called Nociones de gramática castellana al alcance de los niños, and a Gramática castellana para el uso de los niños, which mixes and widens the previous ones. These texts have not been properly studied yet, although they represent a good example of the works that were created to learn the Spanish language at Basque classrooms of the 19th century.
