A male of O. circaverna Kelley, 1983 was collected in Amazonas State, Brazil. This is the first record of this species in Brazil, which was previously reported from Argentina, Curacao, Ecuador, Panama, and Uruguay. Kelley ( 1984) assigned Oxyethira circaverna to the subgenus Dampfitrichia Mosely, 1937.
