Description
Developers of industrial control systems constantly quest for quality in order to improve availability and safety. Some of the threats to quality are the development errors due to incorrect, ambiguous or misunderstood requirements. Formal specification methods may reduce the number of such issues by having unambiguous, mathematically sound semantics, which also allows the development of precise analysis methods. In this paper we present two of the analysis methods developed for PLCspecif, our formal specification language targeting PLC modules: well-formedness analysis and invariant analysis.
